(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A woman jogger told police in west suburban St. Charles she was attacked and groped by a man earlier this week while she was running along the Fox River Trail.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of South Riverside. The female jogger was with a larger group of runners but was farther behind.

She said she heard someone approaching from behind before a man put his arms around her shoulders and grabbed her chest and abdomen. She screamed, and the suspect fled westbound across a pedestrian bridge near Indiana Street, police said.

Authorities did not have a detailed description of the suspect, only that he was about 5’6’’ and wearing a gray or dark camouflage winter coat and dark pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Charles Police Department at 1-630-377-4435.
