OAK PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A longtime teacher at Fenwick High School has been put on administrative leave after a former student complained more than four months ago about his repeated touching of her when she was a student at the Catholic school.

The teacher is John Quinn who has taught at Fenwick for decades, coached its basketball team for almost 30 years, and is the brother of former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.

Fenwick alum Helen Quinn Pasin, no relation, said the teacher assaulted her repeatedly when she was a student.

“He’d stop me, wrap his arms around me, put me in almost a headlock, press his cheek and even his lips against my face and ask me about my love life,” Pasin said in a video posted to social media.

Pasin said it happened around 10 times but she recalled one time she was the last student leaving an event in the school’s basement, and Quinn then appeared.

“I was terrified and thought something much worse was going to happen. I managed to get away after multiple times trying to pull out of his tight grasp on,” said Pasin.

She said she wants to see Quinn fired.

“This disgusting teacher appears in my nightmares all the time because of that terror that was unlocked inside of me and it’s still there,” revealed Quinn.

Oak Park police said they investigated and because the statute of limitations had expired no charges could be filed. Fenwick said it’s still investigating the allegations.
