CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The finale of this year's Sueños Music Festival was canceled Sunday due to severe weather.
Tens of thousands of festival goers were left disappointed after having to evacuate due to heavy downpours that forced organizers to cancel the Latin music fest on its last day.
Organizers had initially told attendees they could enter after 3 p.m. and the show would start an hour later, but, right before 8 p.m., another wave of storms arrived and the team canceled the fest all together.
World renowned headliner Peso Pluma was set to perform.
Many festival goers refused to leave Grant Park and chanted the artist's name in protest of the decision to stop the concert.
Sunday night, festival organizers promised more information to come regarding partial refunds.
This was the third year Chicago hosted Sueños, which celebrates Latino culture and reggaetón music.
