
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are investigating the death of a child at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Water Tower Place Tuesday.
The girl was found unresponsive in the swimming pool at the Ritz-Carlton at around 3:42 p.m. The Chicago Fire Department said she was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital and it was discovered that she had a cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Cook County Medical Examiner office identified the girl as 5-year-old Tabitha Shields of the West Town neighborhood. The Medicals Examiner is conducting an autopsy and Area three detectives are investigating.
