CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - As hundreds of flights were canceled at O'Hare Airport even before today's snowstorm, travelers were hoping for the best as they monitored the weather and their flight statuses.
Amanda Ortiz’s flight to Jacksonville, Florida was still listed as on-time, but if there were any glitches, she said she was going to scratch the trip since she had only planned to go for a couple of days, anyway.
“With the cold front, though, it’s actually supposed to be like in the 40s. Going to Florida. Not really. Just kidding. But, it’s better than negative 10 degrees or whatever it’s going to be,” Ortiz said.
Chai Abdennabi is going to Hawaii and has been keeping an eye on the weather.
“Seeing all the headlines come in. All the news articles keep saying how it’s going to be insane. So, yeah, I’ve been a little worried but I think we’re going to get out just in time,” Abdennabi said.”
Savanna Perkins was pretty confident she would not be denied her trip to Jamaica.
“Missing the blizzard for the tropical,” Perkins laughed.
