Flights grounded at O'Hare, Midway Airports

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - This morning’s severe weather is impacting local air travel.

The FAA issued a ground stop for incoming flights to both O’Hare and Midway Airports due to thunderstorms in the area. The stoppage was in place until 8:30 a.m. for O’Hare. A ground stop remains in effect until 9 a.m. at Midway.

Wait times at O’Hare continue to rise, with departures averaging a delay of 60 minutes.
