(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A retired Cook County judge has been arrested for attempting to hire a prostitute in Florida, according to law enforcement in the Sunshine State.
Daniel Peters, 66, of Palos Hills was one of more than 100 people arrested during a prostitution sting dubbed "Operation March Sadness 2," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced Wednesday.
"He thought he was coming for a girlfriend experience, kind of a date," Judd said of Peters. "He went on an escort site."
Peters was also a special assistant for legal affairs with the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Judd said.
Judd says he asked Peters which side of the law he preferred, after his arrest. He was charged with solicitation of a prostitute. No further details were available.
