CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The former head of the Illinois Public Health Department finds herself under investigation from the state because of possible ethics violations.

It has to do with Illinois’ face of COVID updates-Dr. Ngozi Ezike taking a job as CEO of Sinai Health System a month after leaving her job as director of the state’s public health department.

According to the Better Government Association, the Illinois Office of the Executive Inspector General is trying to determine whether Ezike took a job too soon with a company that does business with the state of Illinois.

The law requires department heads to wait a year before taking a position with companies that have contracts with their departments. One of Dr. Ezike’s lawyers tells the BGA she does not believe the doctor violated the state’s revolving door law.
