(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The discovery of a woman's body on the side of a road in Old Mill Creek in Lake County early Wednesday has led to a homicide investigation.
Someone called 9-1-1 around 7 a.m., saying there may be a body along Hunt Club Road south of Route 173, the sheriff's department said.
Deputies arrived and found the woman's body on the shoulder.
Based on a preliminary investigation, it appears the woman was the victim of a homicide and her body was dumped on the side of the roadway during the early morning hours, authorities said.
The cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.
