(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has released an assessment of her own office, commending her staff for their work and expressing frustration at the attention given to the Jussie Smollett case.

In her “State of the State’s Attorney’s Office Address,” Foxx on Friday said her office approved 86% of the adult felony charges presented to her by police.

Of those, she said, her office had a 75% conviction rate.

After her speech, reporters asked about her office’s much-criticized handling of the Jussie Smollett case, in which the former “Empire” co-star faked a hate crime against himself for attention.

Foxx said people are really more concerned about violent crime.

She said she will have more to say about the Smollett case after he is sentenced next week on his conviction.
