CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Seven people were taken to hospitals early this morning following a multi-vehicle collision on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
This happened about 1:30 a.m. when an inbound semi-truck crashed into impact absorbing barrels near Canalport, and there was a fuel spill. That made the pavement slick, and the drivers of approaching vehicles lost control, the Illinois State Police said.
In all, there were 10 vehicles involved, 17 people. Seven were hospitalized, none with life-threatening injuries. The others refused medical attention.
