(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The family of the man killed in a roof collapse when a tornado hit Belvidere last week is thanking supporters who have donated more than $40,000 to an online fundraiser.
The family of Fred Livingston Jr. said they are speechless after all the kind words, donations and prayers for the father of three boys and grandfather, who was fatally injured Friday evening at the Apollo Theatre.
“Fred made such an impact on all of the people around him. He was loving, selfless, funny and just an all around bad ass. He brought so much love and laughter to our family. The memories we all have will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts,” fundraiser organizers said online.
Nearly 50 others were injured in the incident. At a news conference over the weekend, Gov. JB Pritzker praised people and first-responders for selflessly working to help the injured.
