Girl, 2, shot in hand, Chicago police say

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 2-year-old girl was hospitalized after a shooting in South Shore Monday night.

The 2-year-old was inside an apartment in the 7900 block of South Phillips Avenue at about 7:40 p.m. when she sustained a gunshot wound to her right hand, according to police. She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

A person of interest was being questioned by police as area detectives continue to investigate.
