GLENVIEW (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two days before what would have been his senior prom, family and friends are preparing this morning for the funeral of a Glenview teen killed in a car crash.
Wednesday night, there was a second night of vigils at the site where 17-year-old Marko Niketic was killed in a car crash.
Reverend Darko Spasojevich joined members of Marko’s church, Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, at the remembrance.
“He had an energy and charisma to bring children and people together, but children of all ages,” Spasojevich said.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox in Libertyville. A funeral service follows at 11.
Glenview Police said their investigation is ongoing while the driver of the second vehicle in the crash has been receiving medical treatment since Sunday. Police said they’re conducting interviews with all parties and witnesses.
