The Roosevelt Pool in Glenview opened Monday after a delay, just in time for people looking for a relief from the heat this week.

Although the pool was supposed to open Saturday, Glenview Park District spokeswoman Anna Ables said supply chain issues led to a delay in fixing a mechanical problem, which pushed back the start by two days.

Ables said the repairs were needed to ensure that the pool’s water temperature was at an acceptable level and that the chemicals were balanced.

“We decided to delay [opening] to make sure those were both in place” Ables said.

Between Roosevelt and Flick, the park district’s other outdoor pool, Ables said they’re fully staffed.

The park district expects to be very busy during the heat this week, but Ables said they don’t expect to reach capacity limits.
