CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — When the Cubs aren’t bashing the ball at Wrigley Field for a few days this summer, golfers will be.
Upper Deck Golf is behind a nine-hole golf event that’s taking over Wrigley Field for four days, from July 6 – 9.
The standard tee time will include a nine-hole round inside the park, one set of balls — two per hole — and a clubhouse bar with golfing challenges. As players make their way through the course, they’ll git from multiple levels of the ballpark down to greens on the field.
The VIP tee time will include all of that, plus free entry into the putting and chipping challenges, as well as extra golf balls.
Scoring works like this: Players get a birdie for landing a ball on an inner circle around the pin, a par for hitting the green and a bogey for landing off of the green.
Holes will range in distance from 75 to 150 yards. Golfers will be asked to bring their own clubs, though organizers have said that drivers and fairway metals must stay at home.
On Upper Deck Golf’s website, officials wrote that each round will take about 90 minutes. The standard tee time will cost about $80 — and the waitlist is open now.
