Good Samaritan assists Berwyn police in apprehending teen shooting suspect

BERWYN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A juvenile is in custody, a person is hospitalized, and a Good Samaritan is being thanked after a shooting in the western suburbs late Saturday night.

Berwyn Police said officers responded to multiple calls for gunshots fired in the alley of the 2400 block of Wesley Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found one male victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Officers also located a Good Samaritan who captured and detained a juvenile male suspect, who was taken into custody.

Police recovered two firearms from the juvenile’s home.

The investigation remains ongoing.
