Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has reportedly resumed his public schedule after a second trip to the hospital in just two weeks.
A spokesperson for the governor's office says in a statement that the two-term Democrat, 61, went to a Springfield hospital on the evening of May 13 for treatment of a "minor complication" tied to an outpatient urological procedure Pritzker had back on May 1. The spokesperson says a doctor treated him and sent him home that night.
"He had a full day of work after on Thursday meeting with legislators, Illinoisans, and staff," the spokesperson said.
Pritzker's latest hospital visit came just hours after making his first public appearance since the initial procedure, when he appeared with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and leaders of the Democratic National Committee for an event tied to Chicago's bid to host the party's 2028 convention. At that time, he told reporters he was doing well: "Do I look ok? I feel good. Thank you very much for asking."
The governor's health has been a topic of discussion as he seeks a third term in office, and is widely believed to be considering a run for President. He's tried to address questions about his recent weight loss in a humorous manner, telling the Gridiron Club dinner that he put the "gov" in "Wegovy."
