Faculty and staff at Governors State University in south suburban University Park are to start walking the picket line on Tuesday.
Faculty at Chicago State University and Eastern Illinois University went on strike last week.
The president of the Governors State faculty union told the Chicago Tribune his members decided to go on strike after an inadequate offer last week from the GSU administration. The union president said his members are among the lowest paid university staff in the state and that the pay raises being offered wouldn’t even cover a year’s worth of gas to get to work.
