With the Lambeau Field lights shining their brightest, the Bears shrivel. Down seven points, at the Packers 14-yard line with only seconds left. So close they can sniff six, and then maybe a game-tying extra point or game-winning two point conversion.

But on fourth and one their last drive goes up in smoke with a stunning Caleb Williams interception in the endzone.  He was targeting tight end Cole Kmet.

The Bears lose at Lambeau Field, 28-21.

"They had a guy trailing me and so I didn't feel I could go get it (first down) myself."  Williams explains.

"Just got to give Cole a better shot at it (the ball).  Next time just extend him a little bit more, kid of lead him.  But in those moments, you want to put the ball in play and trust your guy, or try to have your guy go make the play.  And I just have to give him a better ball."

Scrambling to his left, Williams under-throws Kmet.  The same play that clicked for a score on Black Friday in Philadelphia backfires at the end in Green Bay.

"We had a lot of options there."  Head coach Ben Johnson says.

"Don't know exactly who is going to pop (open) necessarily, but between the options that we have and then Caleb using his legs we were hopeful we could find a way to get a yard there."

Williams completes just over 54.3-percent of his passes, 19/35 (, 186 yards, 2 touchdowns (Olamide Zaccheaus, Colston Loveland).

D'Andre Swift rushes for 63 yards.

Kyle Monangai earns 57 yards on the ground.  But the hard-running rookie gets stuffed on third and 1 before the Bears final play- Williams costly interception.

"It's frustration."  Williams says of the feeling in the post-game locker room in Green Bay.

"We shot ourselves in the foot, I think, more than anything.  That's where the frustration comes from.  We had to try and rally and it's not always going to work in our favor.

The Bears storm back from down 14-3 to tie the game, 21-21 with eight minutes to play.

Josh Jacobs winds up rushing for the Packers go-ahead touchdown with 3:26 remaining.

Packer QB Jordan Love completes a crisp, 17 of 25 passes (68%), 234 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

The Bears rematch with the Packers, one week from Saturday (12/20), in primetime, at Soldier Field.

"We need to start faster."   Williams says

"I need to start faster.  I think that will do us well as a team, and as an offense especially."

The Packers ride their four-game winning streak into first place.

Head coach Matt LaFleur is 12-1 vs Bears, 1-0 vs Ben Johnson.

The Bears five-game winning streak ends.  And they fall in the standings; from first to second place in the NFC North, and from first in the NFC to seventh (last in playoff picture).

Down to 9-4 on the season, with only four games to play (3 at home), the playoff-hopeful Bears host Cleveland, Sunday (12/14) at Noon.

Early lines list the Bears around a 7-1/2 point favorite.
