
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man due in court on gun charges this morning could be connected to the fatal shooting of Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca.
Chicago Police said they arrested Caschaus Tate Friday on aggravated unlawful use of a weapon charges. As a 20-year-old, he can’t get a Firearms Owners Identification Card (FOID) legally.
CBS-2 reported officers saw Tate throw a semi-automatic glock over a fence as they searched a home near 108th and Hale in Beverly. It’s believed to be the gun that was missing from Officer Huesca the morning he was killed.
Tate also faces burglary charges in Richton Park.
Chicago Police are looking for a 22-year-old Xaiver L. Tate Jr., who’s been charged with first-degree murder in Huesca’s death.
Police said they have recovered the officer’s service weapon and have not said if the two men are related.
