CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police were involved in two separate shootings Sunday night on the Near North Side and on the Southwest Side.

The first shooting was in Old Town near Division and Wells, at about 6:50 p.m. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said officers were trying to pull over a car after a call of a person with a gun when the agency said the people inside refused their commands and took off, hitting a police vehicle.

One officer fired their gun. The car was found a few blocks away and officers took a person of interest into custody.

At about 11 p.m., police said a man or young man shot at officers in an unmarked car near 52nd and Homan in the Gage Park neighborhood as they were responding to a call.

Police said officers did not return fire.

Police are talking to several people but said the shooter is not in custody. No one was injured in either case.
