AURORA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A 17-year old is being charged as an adult in an Aurora carjacking that left a Montgomery woman paralyzed.
In January of 2021, Ishmail Gonzalez was 15-years old when prosecutors say he pulled Kim Weibring out of her Hyundai Santa Fe in a Wendy’s parking lot and shot her in the back. The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office says Gonzalez has been indicted on attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, carjacking and more. He is being held on $500,000 dollars bond.
A fourth suspect was shot and killed during another carjacking days after the one in Aurora.
