
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A Chicago Cubs security employee went to the hospital Tuesday after coming into contact with a substance in a piece of mail.
The incident occurred in a team corporate office on Waveland Avenue near Wrigley Field around 3 p.m. The employee went to the hospital after experiencing skin irritation and was later released; a team spokesperson said the worker may have had an allergic reaction.
The Chicago Fire Department briefly called a Level 1 hazmat response, a spokesperson said, and the police bomb squad also responded. An investigation continues.
