(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A national fast casual restaurant chain that specializes in healthy food is testing a largely automated service process in Chicago’s western suburbs.
The Naperville sweetgreen, 223 S Main St., features what the company calls “Infinite Kitchen” technology.
Customers can order by using self-serve kiosks, a mobile app or with direct help from someone at the restaurant. Then, the technology takes over, putting the greens and dressings into bowls.
Human employees put the finishing touches on the salads.
The company says the process will elevate food quality while making service faster.
“With the integration of the sweetgreen Infinite Kitchen in our restaurants, we can unlock efficiencies that will enable us to grow more quickly as we scale,” Jonathan Neman, CEO and co-founder of sweetgreen, said in a news release.
