CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Heavy rain is expected in the Chicago area Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers will increase midday with steadier rain spreading across the area through noon. The National Weather Service said that "localized instances of flooding are possible" as the heavy rain is expected to continue into Friday night.
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago recommends that residents conserve water now to reduce the amount of water in municipal sewers by delaying showers and baths, flushing less frequently, and waiting to run the dishwasher or washing machine.
