(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The mother of a player who was cut from the Hinsdale South High School basketball team says even though he's back on the squad, she's not ready to drop the federal lawsuit she filed.

Erin Savage accuses the current varsity coach of cutting her son Brendan Savage from the team, because of complaints she filed against the former varsity coach, who was demoted.

Brendan's mom accuses the previous coach of verbally abusing, bullying and humiliating her son.

She claims the decision to cut her son was not because of his playing ability. As an underclassman, he previously played on the varsity team, she said.

Brendan's mother says a lawyer for the school told her that her son is back on the team. Even so, Brendan's mother says she has no plans to drop the federal lawsuit until she is sure that her son gets adequate playing time.

A spokesman for Hinsdale Township High School District 86 declined to comment because the lawsuit is still pending.
