Hollywood is back in business in Chicago

CHICAGO( WBBM NEWSRADIO) — As Chicago works its way toward its post-pandemic days, so is the Chicago film industry.

Some shows have already gotten a jump with improving COVID-19 conditions here. According to the Chicago Tribune, NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med” and “Chicago PD” started filming in the fall and will soon be wrapping up production.

Showtime’s “The Chi” started filming in January, while production is also underway for the HBO Max series “South Side.”

There’s even a Chicago-based Christmas movie being filmed here now, The Christmas Pitch.

Cinespace Chicago Film Studios has announced plans to add 19 more sound stages to its current 42 in the Little Village community.
