CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago Marathon was a success in many ways, but not for those who had their cars towed.
Police were out Sunday morning giving tickets and towing cars parked along the marathon route.
It seemed the warnings were ignored, and car after car was being loaded onto tow trucks.
Most of this happened near inner Lake Shore Drive and Sheridan, about seven and a half miles into the route.
The Department of Streets and Sanitation says nearly 400 cars were towed.
Signs had been posted starting five days before the race.
