
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - An overnight two-car crash on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway led to two people seriously hurt and significant traffic issues at the start of morning drive.
Illinois State Police reopened the inbound Eisenhower at Kostner Avenue following the cleanup and investigation of the overnight crash.
According to ISP, the incident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Both the driver and passenger of one of the cars involved were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Police did not provide any other details about the crash.
As part of their investigation, all inbound lanes were shut down between Cicero and Kostner avenues for nearly four hours.
The closure resulted in a major headache for commuters, with traffic backing up all the way to First Avenue.
