(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An Indiana man is behind bars more than a month after allegedly attacking an Illinois State Police trooper and fleeing.

Illinois State Police said that on April 8, a trooper stopped a white Mercedes on the Bishop Ford Expressway at Sibley. When the trooper realized Bryan Ramos-Ubri, 24 was driving on a suspended license out of Indiana, he asked Ramos-Ubri to get out of the car.

There was a struggle with Ramos-Ubri allegedly kicking the trooper and driving off. A week later, Indiana State Police were chasing Ramos-Ubri in his Mercedes in Peru and arrested him.

He’s been extradited to Illinois to face charges including aggravated battery to a police officer.
