(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Indianapolis men face federal charges for allegedly trafficking several firearms, including semiautomatic rifles and “ghost guns,” in the Chicago area.

Devante T. Brown, 27, and 19-year-old Corey Sartin were arrested Friday and scheduled to make initial appearances in U.S. District Court in Chicago on Monday, federal prosecutors announced.

Brown and Sartin last week illegally sold 10 firearms in Calumet City, but they unknowingly made the deal with undercover law enforcement officers, a criminal complaint said.

In a text message to one of the agents, Brown allegedly said: “Trust me we gone keep you with all the artillery. I come across guns all day long. We gone do good business together.”

The haul of 10 seized weapons was four semiautomatic handguns, four semiautomatic rifles, and two privately made “ghost guns” with no identifiable serial number, authorities said.

Brown and Sartin are both charged with conspiracy and willfully dealing firearms without a license. Brown also charged with illegally possessing firearms as a previously convicted felon, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago said.
