INDIANA (WBBM Newsradio) – One hundred Indiana State Police troopers took part in a 12-hour manhunt for YouTube star MrBeast as part of a new video that put $500,000 on the line.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, released the video Saturday under the title “I Got Hunted By 100 Real Cops.”
The roughly 20-minute video follows Donaldson and four friends as they attempt to evade 100 Indiana State Police troopers for 12 hours. If troopers captured all five before time expired, they would win $500,000. If anyone remained free, Donaldson and his group would keep the money.
The troopers ultimately won the challenge and collected the prize.
Indiana State Police said the production gave the agency an opportunity to showcase several aspects of police work, including K-9 teams, emergency response units and the work troopers perform across the state.
“We had a lot of fun being part of this production and showing a different side of the Indiana State Police,” the agency said in a Facebook post.
State police said the participating troopers took part while off duty. The agency was also compensated for the use of its equipment during filming.
Donaldson is the most-followed creator on YouTube, with more than 514 million subscribers.
The video had accumulated more than 42 million views as of Sunday.
