As Chicago-area Jews prepare to celebrate the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, congregations are approaching the pandemic in different ways.
Some congregations are opting for streaming their services.
But Victoria May, administrator for Lake Shore Drive Synagogue, said her modern orthodox congregation can't stream its services.
Instead, leaders of the synagogue have decided to hold in-person services with strict safety protocols, May said.
For those who can't attend — or choose not to — there will be audio recordings, prayer books and guides to conducting services at home, she said.
