CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Could the U.S. be experiencing the best job market in decades?
Analysts think so and one hiring expert has some advice for those who feel the hot job market is passing them by.
Michelle Reisdorf, district director at human resources consulting firm Robert Half in Chicago, said the best way to break out of a career rut is to get noticed.
“Get outside of your comfort zone. Turn your camera on. Make sure visibly you’re present,” Reisdorf told WBBM Newsradio.
She said that’s possible even with the entire office working from home. In fact, she said some workers can thrive in a virtual environment.
"I mean, it definitely has allowed people to be more vocal where they don't feel like, you know, they're being stared at by everybody in the room," she continued.
And she added that job seekers and their home offices have to look the part.
"So, you look professional or the environment that you're working in is professional. So, again, that you feel very much part of what is happening in the, you know, remote office," Reisdorf said.
