(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Joliet police accuse a man of beating his adult stepson with a wood beam before shooting an arrow at him.
Investigators say 53-year-old Harold Cochran was arguing with his wife at their home in the 6600 block Langsford Lane last Friday when Cochran's 34-year-old stepson complained they were too loud.
Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English says Cochran hit his stepson's head with a wooden stair rail before the victim got to his bedroom and called 9-1-1. Cochran then shot an arrow at his stepson with a crossbow, but missed, authorities say.
Prosecutors have charged Cochran with aggravated battery, domestic battery and aggravated assault.
His next court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 22.
