(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man's attempt to get his van repaired in the far west suburbs turned into felony charges for the repair shop owner.
A 62-year-old man has been arrested in Virgil Township for the lawful use of a firearm and possession of controlled substances, among other charges.
The man arrested has been identified as Todd Nord, the owner of Pan Man Welding in Kane County.
A customer told police he was repeatedly chased off the property by Nord several times when attempting to pick up his vehicle from the welding shop.
When the customer finally got a look at his vehicle it had been severely damaged with bullet holes.
After a police investigation – cocaine, unknown pills, and ammunition were seized at Ford's business and residence.
Police say Ford admitted to being mad at the customer and damaging his van.
Ford is a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess firearms.
