KANE COUNTY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- As state law requires, the Kane County Clerk's Office has sent applications for mail-in ballots to all of the county's registered voters.

Clerk Jack Cunningham said those applications should arrive in the mail this week.

Cunningham said voters who wish to cast mail-in ballots can apply either just for this November's election or can sign up to receive mail-in ballots for future elections as well.

“As Clerk, I’ve worked to increase accessibility and voting options for all Kane County registered voters while increasing transparency and security," he said in a statement.

"We want voters to feel confident knowing that we’ve done everything possible to provide them with every opportunity to vote, that the process was safe and secure, and that the results are fair and accurate--whether they vote in person at one of our Early Voting sites, by mail, or at a polling place on Election Day.”

He said some political groups and candidates have also sent mail-in ballot applications to voters.

Cunningham said Kane County voters should only use the application they get from the County Clerk's Office to make sure all the information is accurate.

He also reminds voters that they need to sign their applications for mail-in ballots.
