
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A strike has been averted at Northeastern Illinois University.
NEIU and unionized faculty and staff announced Monday that the two sides had reached a tentative labor agreement. Details were not disclosed.
“This news represents the tireless work from all sides to avoid a strike so that students can continue to learn without disruption, and it’s a significant step toward healing our community,” the statement said.
Recently, late-stage deals between administrations and union members ended strikes at Governors State and Chicago State universities.
