CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A priest in Lake Zurich who has faced abuse allegations twice before is once again being accused of abusing a minor.

The Chicago archdiocese said Father David Ryan, the priest at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Lake Zurich, is stepping aside - after the archdiocese received two allegations of sexual abuse of a minor.

Cardinal Blase Cupich wrote a letter to parishioners at St. Francis de Sales and said the allegations were being reported to civil authorities.

Father Ryan stepped aside from ministerial duties in 2020 after abuse allegations were made at Maryville Academy in Des Plaines.

He was reinstated a year ago after authorities determined the allegations were unfounded and then another allegation was made last fall.

The Arcdiocese again reinstated Ryan after officials said they found insufficient evidence of abuse.
