Summer roadwork ramps on DuSable Lake Shore Drive: What to know

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Navigating DuSable Lake Shore Drive this week will be a challenge at times, with summer repair projects, both north and south, slated to severely impact traffic.

Today, until 4 p.m., southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DSLD) will be down to one lane as crews conduct pavement work on the bridge over 18th Street near the Museum Campus.

Tomorrow, the same set of lane closures  will shift to the northbound side, spanning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) says there will be moving closures in both directions, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Week-long road work will disrupt traffic on the North Side portion of DLSD as well as. For the next five days, from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., three southbound lanes will be closed between Lawrence and Hollywood Avenues.

Today and Wednesday, CDOT will shutdown Lawrence and Foster ramps as crews work on DSLD.
