CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Department of Transportation announced Wednesday afternoon that it’s conducting emergency repairs on the Michigan Avenue bridge.
Of course, the repairs will impact the evening rush. Officials said northbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes while southbound traffic will go down to one lane.
State Street will be a good alternative to Michigan Avenue, according to WBBM Traffic Anchor Neil Fiorito.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon, the Lake Street bridge was stuck in the upright position for about one hour. As a result, Green and Pink Line CTA trains experienced significant delays.
