(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The FBI offered a reward of up to $10,000 for anyone who can provide information that would directly help authorities arrest and convict an unknown bank robbery suspect.
On Wednesday, investigators released surveillance images showing the man inside of the First Savings Bank of Hegewisch, located in suburban Lansing near the corner of Burnham Avenue and Ridge Road.
Officials said the robbery happened on Aug. 9 shortly after 10 a.m. The offender implied that he was armed with a handgun and demanded money. He eventually fled the scene on foot, and no physical injuries were reported.
The FBI said the man wore a watch on his right wrist and carried a blue Walmart shopping bag.
Members of the public were encouraged to report tips by calling 312-421-6700 or by going to the FBI’s website.
