CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A lawsuit involving the HGTV show "Windy City Rehab" and a home in the Lincoln Square neighborhood has been settled.
The lawsuit claimed that the home in the 2300 block of West Giddings Street, which was sold to a Chicago couple was plagued with defects, especially leaks, and the couple sought more than a million dollars in damages.
There was a lot of back and forth in the case including at one point a demand that the show be taken off the air. The Chicago Sun-Times said how the suit was resolved and what if any damages might have been paid were not revealed.
A lawyer involved in the case called the settlement mutually beneficial. The show's hosts meanwhile are still dealing with other legal issues.
The Sun-Times reported that an attorney for Donovan Eckhardt, an ex-host for the show, said in an emailed statement: "The resolution of this matter has come primarily through Donovan's efforts in working towards an agreement satisfactory to all parties involved. He looks forward to moving on with other business opportunities in the future."
