(WBBM NEWRADIO) — The Chicago area is getting a dusting of snow as the weekend begins to go along with chilly temperatures.
The steady but light snowfall began Friday evening and was expected to end by Saturday morning, with accumulations of up to 1 inch. The snow, coupled with freezing conditions, could make for treacherous driving conditions, National Weather Service officials warned.
Temperatures were expected to peak at 28 degrees Saturday and 29 degrees on Sunday. They may break into the low-30s on Sunday, the NWS predicted.
More snow showers could occur Sunday.
