The Sheriff’s office issued a community alert:

“Two aggressive brown pit bulls are loose in the Johnsburg area near W. Huemann Dr. and N. Orchard Beach Rd. Stay indoors and exercise extreme caution.”

It turned out that four dogs were loose.  They attacked two people who were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police, firefighters and animal control responded.

They used a fire extinguisher and a Taser to try to control the dogs. One was shot and killed by a deputy.  Two were captured.  One got away.

The two sheriff’s deputies had minor injuries. One was treated at the scene. The second refused treatment.
