A well-known Chicago pizza place is closing one of its flagship dine-in restaurants.
Lou Malnati’s says it is permanently closing its Gold Coast location at 1120 North State at the end of the month. Apparently, the owner of the building wants to redevelop it and chose not to renew Lou Malnati’s lease. The pizza company is looking at new locations, including at the redeveloped space in its current spot. In the meantime, while there won’t be any dine-in or carry-out service after June 30th, the Lou Malnati’s staff will be using a temporary kitchen so online and phone orders will still be available.
