(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Loyola University’s famous century-old nun is getting ready to celebrate another birthday.
In two weeks, Sister Jean Delores Schmidt will turn 104 years old.
She said she recently talked with the committee in charge of celebrating her birthday and told them they didn’t have to top last year, when a CTA Red Line plaza was named in her honor.
There will be masses and lunches on Aug. 21 and the day before when some of her sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary are expected to be part of a guest list of some 125 people.
“That’ll be a lot of fun,” she said.
Since her last trip around the sun, Sister Jean has written a book. She says she’s looking forward to another season of Ramblers men’s basketball and hopes the team will make it to the NCAA tournament again.
