46-year-old man struck and killed while crossing NW Side street: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating a pedestrian accident this morning in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The crash happened on North Cicero Avenue around 5 a.m.

Police said a 56-year-old man driving a white sedan was  traveling southbound on Cicero near Armitage and struck a 46-year-old man at the intersection.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead. His identity has not been released yet.

The driver of the sedan was issued traffic citations, but what the violations are not clear.
