
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was shot during an attempted carjacking on the North Side early Monday morning, according to Chicago police.
The 52-year-old was standing by a car near Damen and Wabansia Avenues in Bucktown shortly after 5 a.m. when he was approached by two people.
Chicago police said the pair demanded the man’s property, and one of them started shooting.
The man was struck in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Officials said the carjacking was unsuccessful as the suspects fled the scene without taking anything.
The attempted carjacking remains under investigation. and no one is in custody.
